What little girls are made of

Many of you know my son Evan is a self proclaimed artist. His work is all over our home and rarely is a day that we aren’t doing a craft of some kind. Just last night before bed we noticed his Highlights magazine came and we sat down and made windmill piggy banks before bed. We discovered Evans artistic ability when he was 4. When Olivia approached 4 we started keeping an eye on her to see if there was a pattern - or an age of understanding if you will of one’s talents. Well she just turned 5 and over the past year she has shown so many of her talents, her future will be a pleasant ride I am sure. She loves to color. She colors morning, noon and night. We can’t keep enough crayons or pads around. They are in my car, at the studio, in her room, in our den - in every drawer in our house. But not only does she loves to color, but she loves to color dresses - and as her preschool teacher knows she is a fashionista at her school. Often going with purple tights and a pink dress and green shoes if she chooses - it all shows her individuality and makes her who she is. Will she be an illustrator? A fashion designer? A Veterinarian? (She loves animals) that is still all unknown.
Yesterday we we wrapping up things the studio preparing for a much needed long weekend and she saw two dresses that had recently been made for our BabyThredz line (our photographer-to-photographer clothing line). She begged and pleaded and urged me to let her wear them, and then begged and pleaded and urged me to take a photo. She even said "Mom, can you take a good picture of me please?". So I did. How could I say no?!! Her and Ava graced my studio with their beauty and childlike innocenence in feeling what it means to be a little girl. I had to share some of my favorites - of course I like them all!
So here’s to little girls and the joy and beauty they bring every day. (you know I love boys too! but today its about the girls ;-))
